The body resting atop a splayed foot, set with a long tapering spout and rising to a flared neck with protruding rim, decorated with an amber-coloured glaze, the base unglazed,

c.f. Two comparable kendis are housed in the collection of the British Museum, acc. nos. 2010,3007.39 and 1981,0228.3. Another example is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, acc. no. 1986.344. A comparable kendi is also in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, acc. no. 202.2008.

A comparable kendi, unearthed in the Sinan shipwreck in the Philippines, is illustrated by Kim, Ingyu in 'Yuan Dynasty Chinese Ceramics Excavated from the Santa Ana Relics of the Philippines', 2012, p.8, no.7.
