A mid-20th century Cambodian silver covered dish on stand (Tok), circa 1960
Circular form with a rounded basin upon a screw fixed stand formed as three supports modelled as Garuda upon a domed base. The domed pull off lid surmounted by a screw fitted finial composed of two chased discs and a chased knop. The main body, lid and foot with embossed architraves chased with foliate patterns and water lettuce. The underside stamped CAMBODGE and REF (incuse), the interior of lid stamped CHKU T100%.
Height – 19.3 cm / 7.55 inches
Weight – 1041 grams / 33.47 ozt
Purchased by the vendors aunt in Cambodia while living there in the 1950’s and 60’s. Thence by descent.
