The jardinière painted to the exterior with a continuous scene depicting officials and scholars stood atop city walls, figures climbing up rocky cliffs, and a pleasure boat being towed by boaters up ahead, the landscape dotted with blossoming trees, dwellings, pavilions and banners, the stand painted with butterflies hovering amongst large flowering peonies and fruiting lychee and peach branches, both rims decorated with millefleur designs on gilt grounds,
the jardinière 23.5cm wide, 16.7cm high;

CONDITION REPORT:
A large crack running down over the rim and into the exterior and interior, with several smaller hairline cracks running off this main one. Encrustations around the edge of the base of the jardiniere caused by exposure to standing water, resulting in heavy wear to the enamels.
The base with a Y-shaped old hairline crack. The interior walls with similar encrustations. A large chip to the exterior. General surface wear and loss of enamels.
