An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver twin handled tray, Calcutta circa 1910
Raj period, of rectangular form with rounded corners, the rim modelled as bamboo. The wrought and chased twin handles formed as two intertwined serpents. The field and edge with embossed decoration in village pattern, centred with a vacant lobed C scroll cartouche. Decorated with elephants and palm trees, oxen ploughing fields, village houses the grounds populated with people.
