An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver three-piece tea service, Calcutta circa 1910
Comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. The teapot with a curved spout opposite a C scroll handle modelled as bamboo fitted with ivory insulators pinned to sockets. Each with everted scalloped necks, the teapot with a hinged domed lid surmounted by a cast finial of an elephant. The bodies with embossed decoration in village pattern, showing figures driving carts with oxen as well as carrying and preparing food with huts in the background, all above a band of acanthus leaves.
