Artist Description:
Frimpong tackles themes of sex, race and violence, popular culture, surrealism and taboo references using watercolour and digital images. Freeakpong as she known, has a desire to unleash her unconscious and repressed feelings onto the world delivering an honest statement. Firmpongs’s drawings share a frank exploration of the darker reaches of the human psyche in a seamlessly informal and intense way. Her small scale drawings echo those of diary entries; personal records designed for the creator’s eyes only, yet exposed.
