A very large early 20th century Burmese silver scroll holder, probably Rangoon circa 1920
Of cylindrical form with bulbous ends, one pull-off, each with opposable rings. The main body with embossed vignettes of figures drawn from the Ramayana, reserved with foliate scrolls, between borders of chased betel leaves. The centre with four vignettes, three of which chased with chased with chinthe in alternating directions, the fourth with a chased presentation inscription in Burmese script.
