A gift from the artist to the parents of the present owner

Clifford Wright was an American/Danish artist who married the leading Danish feminist writer Elsa Gress. Wright studied at the Cornish School alongside Mark Tobey and was exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum and Museum of Modern Art. He did designs for the Royal Danish Opera and also illustrated books.
