A late 19^th / early 20^th century Burmese niello and silver lime box, probably Shan States circa 1900

Of oval form with a pull off lid with moulded edge. The lid chased decoration then nielloed with a figure in traditional costume within a shaped cartouche reserved with foliate scrolls. The sides with trailing foliate scrolls between simple triangular borders.
