An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver footed bowl, Bombay circa 1920
Raj period. Of rounded circular form upon a domed pedestal foot. The body with embossed decoration in hunting pattern, depicting a hunter grappling with a tiger, a tiger surprising a hunter sat upon a caparisoned elephant, a lion attacking a man as the lioness flees with cub in mouth while another hunter mounts his horse, three hunters one on horse back and one with a shield attack three tigers. All reserved against a textured ground, and all above a band of stylised acanthus leaves. The domed foot with a continuous scene of animals hunting one another.
