Casella (Giuseppe)

Autograph letter signed ('Giuseppe Cassella'), in Italian, addressed to an unknown recipient who has enquired about further developments on Casella's research, reading in part "I will try ... to publish immediately (as soon as I can and will be allowed) the rest, which concerns the attempts to the solution of the 5th and 6th degree equations, hoping that the thing can succeed ... with a Herchellian telescope I have made several observations on Saturn's satellites, with some eclipses of those of Jupiter. They will be published in due course", three pages, folding marks, stain to last page, 4to, Naples, 16 March 1789.
