AN EGYPTIAN SCHIST PALETTE Predynastic Period, Naqada I, Circa 3600 - 3200 B.C. In the form of a bird, with a rounded body, short neck and beaked head, with a small recessed eye, and piercing on the back, 8.5cm high, 15.5cm long.  Provenance: Gottfried & Helga Hertel collection, Cologne, acquired prior to 1995.
