Note:
Since relocating to London, from Trinidad, the Scottish born artist has become one of the most important contemporary artists. Doig’s work undoubtably blurs the boundaries between narrative painting with that of abstraction. His exploration of time and space are key components within his work and there are many notable examples.

Despite being know predominantly for his paintings, Doig has extended his practice into printmaking through a variety of mediums and collaborations. His prints and paintings often work in conversation with each other, here in Doig’s 'Road to Zermatt' he digitizes a painting in order to have the piece produced as an edition of 250. The prints carefully capture Doig’s imagination and skill in his rendering of texture on a flat and printed surface.

This series of Giclée prints on Cotton Smooth Rag published by HENI documents the artists painting series, ‘Zermatt’, where Doig drew on multiple inspirations, from the landscape of the Swiss Alps, vintage ski posters and his own practice of Studio Film Club Posters.
