Hadda or Fondukistan, Afghanistan, 3rd - 5th century

Almost carved in the round, the face with wide almond-shaped eyes, very pronounced lips, large nose and arch-like eyebrows, the hairstyle with clear Greco-Roman influences, with thick wavy hair and a hair-knot on the right hand-side, mounted on a metal base, 21.5cm x 8cm including the base.
