A GEORGE JONES MAJOLICA DESSERT SERVICE, circa 1870, decorated in relief with chestnut leaves against folded white napkins with pink trims, with ochre rims, the undersides with mottled green, brown and ochre glazes, comprising a large shaped serving dish with a twig handle issuing blossom, 30cm wide, nine dessert plates, 23cm diameter, and the top of a comport, 23.5cm diameter, the serving dish with moulded 'GJ' mark above 'STOKE ON TRENT', the plates with impressed 'GJ' monograms (chips to some plates, top of comport drilled and lacking base) (11)
