A late 19th / early 20th century Siamese (Thai) silver stem tray, probably Bangkok circa 1900 probably by Hui Li
Of dished circular form upon a screw attached domed foot with a central compressed knop. Chased decoration of acacia flower type pattern. Marked underneath with a double struck artisan mark in Chinese 惠利 (HUI LI) as well as in Thai ฮเยริ, and a standard mark (solid silver) 足銀 (ZU YIN),.
Height – 12.5 cm / 4.9 inches
Diameter – 20.3 cm / 8 inches
Weight – 445 grams / 14.31 ozt
This stand would likely have held a ceremonial wedding bowl with water dipper cup, an example of which illustrated Bromberg, P., (2019), Thai SIlver and Nielloware, Bangkok: River Books, p. 101 fig. 3.45.
