A mid- 18th century Danish silver sugar caster, Copenhagen 1755 by Sivert Thorstensson (active 1742-92)
Of globular form upon a domed circular foot. The inverted baluster bayonet lid surmounted by a spiked dome finial. The lid with pierced decoration of foliate forms and embossed scroll with rocaille. The body with embossed rocaille scrolls. Marked underneath with makers mark, town/date mark, zodiac month mark and assayers mark for Christopher Fabricius (1749-87), the lid unmarked.
