A short land pattern brown bess musket, late 18th century. Round steel barrel of 42 inches (107cm), smooth bore of around .75 bore (19.5mm). Steel lock plate marked TOWER, with crown over GR. Barrel with approval stamps. Walnut stock, brass trigger guard and butt plate. Brass side plate. Mechanism all working. Iron ramrod present. Overall length 58 inches (147cm). (1)
