Envelope panel signed ('Charles Dickens'), addressed in his hand to Henry Cole, Paris Exhibition Office, South Kensington, postmarked 3 May 1866, mounted for display, overall size 66 x 48cm.

***Henry Cole promoted the idea of the 1851 Great Exhibition. Afterwards we was appointed Secretary of the Department of Practical Art (later, Science and Art), under the Board of Trade, and Superintendent of the Kensington museums (now the Victoria and Albert Museum).
