THREE PAIRS OF CARVED NAUTILUS SHELLS TOGETHER WITH ANOTHER
of Conchology interest, the seashells all with pierced and carved decoration, the first pair with a tropical scene with a palm tree and hut and a house by a lake (15cm wide), the second European landscapes (15cm), the third with flower heads, (14cm), together with a further pierced shell, now damaged, raised on a bronze dolphin cast base and ebonised plinth, 20cm high overall (7)
Provenance: Marie-Claude Fabius, a respected London antiques dealer was passionate about her treasured shell collection, amassed over many years. She descended from a long dynasty of famous Parisian antique dealers.
