An early 20th century Burmese unmarked silver box, probably Rangoon circa 1930
Of rectangular form with a hinged stepped lid. The sides and lid with embossed decoration of figures from the Ramayana, including Rama with his bow to the lid, all within shaped architraves reserved with foliate scrolls, the lid with borders of lotus sepal leaves. Traces of velvet to the interior.
