Various Ambrotypists, c.1860s
MIXED OCCUPATIONAL & COMICAL AMBROTYPES c.1860s. Comprising three cased quarter plates; an architect, two gentlemen shaking hands in front of a wall, and a lady & gentlemen stood either side of a pony, the lady holding a tennis racket in a case stamped J.Harris, Portsea.
Seven sixth plates; including a runner with his coach holding a stopwatch in an unusual portrait format, a smiling man of letters, a carpenter, an artist, a gentlemen in an unidentified red waistcoat, and finally a pair of interesting images of two gentlemen, one holding a bottle of alcohol, the other holding a cigar case (?), in the next image, the goods have changed hands and the gentlemen are dressed rather differently, one offering the other a cigar.
