A pair of late 19th century Anglo – Indian silver boxes, Cutch, Bhuj circa 1880 by Oomersi Mawji (active 1860-90)

Raj period, each of rectangular form with a hinged lid. The sides with deep chased decoration of foliate scrolls, the lid with a border of lozenges. The lid top chased with the same, centred with a vacant oval cartouche flanked by a lion attacking a gazelle, and a tiger attacking a gazelle. Each marked underneath O.M BHUJ encameo. (2)
