λ AN IVORY-HILTED SINHALESE DAGGER (PIHA KAETTA)
Sri Lanka, 18th century

With broad single-edged steel blade with fuller along the back edge, the forte and tang inlaid with fine silver vegetal scrolls and long palmette, the ivory hilt with silver studs carved with volutes and palmettes in a style similar to the vegetal decoration on the forte, 27.5cm long.
