Autograph letter signed ('Richard Merrick') to the Secretary to the British and Foreign Anti Slavery Society in London, regarding the formation of the Auxiliary Anti Slavery Society in the parish of St. Thomas in the Vale, discussing some legal disputes occurring in Jamaica and proposing "that and Anty Slavery Convention be held in March for the purpose of appointing delegates from this Island to attend the anniversary of the American Anti Slavery Society in New York", three pages, folding marks, some soiling, tears to margins, postage stamps on address leaf, large 4to, Jericho, St. Thomas in the Vale, 10 January 1840; and two others (3)
