A late 18th century French unmarked gold mounted ivory patch box, circa 1780

Of ellipse form, with chased edge mounts. The lid with a painted enamel plaque of an en grisaille classical maiden, edged with gold. The interior with a mirror a velvet lining.

Length – 10.2 cm / 4 inches
