Artist Description:
Humphrey’s work is a heterogeneous mash-up of painting styles and modes of representation. His works attempt to perform what might be called a humanized or personal post-modernism. Humphrey’s paintings continue to present a rowdy, playful, and sometimes poignant cocktail of both formal and human relationships. His delicate sense for colour and composition and trademark sense of humour are used to soften and disarm the otherwise jarring effect of the brash and bawdy pictorial and psychological content of his work.
