THREE LATE MUGHAL-REVIVAL INDIAN PAINTINGS
Comprising two Mughal-style vertical compositions, opaque pigments on paper and cotton, one depicting a ruler embracing his favourite courtesan whilst smoking on a water pipe (huqqa), the recto with 13ll. of free-flowing coarse black ink naskh script, 26.5cm x 20cm including the frame; the other featuring a hunting scene with three courtly riders on horseback, 27cm x 22cm including the frame; and a standing portrait of a lady, pencil, white wash and ink on paper, in the style of Indian Ragamala illustrations, the lady bathing in the river surrounded by birds and lush trees, signed in the bottom left corner 'Himmat Ghati (Deograh)', 28cm x 21.5cm including the frame, Northern India, late 20th century
