Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting the Maharaja of Marwar, Ajit Singh Rathore, smoking a huqqa on the terrace of his palace, behind him his huqqa bearer, and two more attendants, one with a fly-whisk and the other with a roll of orange fabric, possibly a floor-spread, the Maharaja portrayed with a green and golden halo, wearing a bright yellow robe, several strands of pearls, and an elaborate turban ornament (sarpeech), mounted, glazed and framed, 30.8cm x 20.3cm excluding the frame.
