Document signed ('W Pitt'), being a warrant addressed to the Commissioners of His Majesty’s Customs in Scotland and authorising them to appoint James Rannie "to be Cooper at the Port of Leith in the room of Alexander Pentland deceased" at a salary of £24 per annum, countersigned by James Graham, 3rd Duke of Montrose and Edward James Eliot, both Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, one page, folio, Whitehall Treasury Chambers, 18 July 1788.
