A good late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver three-piece tea service, Lucknow circa 1900 by Durga Parshad and Manohar Das
Raj period, comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of globular form upon a collet foot. The teapot with a cobra form handle with ivory insulators pinned to handle, the hinged domed lid surmounted by an affixed finial of a caparisoned elephant. The bodies with finely chased jungle pattern, depicting boars, stags, rams, tigers, elephants and a hunter riding a caparisoned elephant, all reserved with palm trees and held between bands of trailing foliage. The mild and sugar with gilt interiors. The underside of teapot only engraved STERLING SILVER DURGA PARSHAD & MANOHAR DAS. LUCKNOW. (3)
