TWO SAFAVID BLUE AND WHITE POTTERY DISHES AND A BOWL Iran, 16th - 17th century Comprising a large blue and white pottery dish on a straight circular foot, the central cobalt blue-painted decoration against white ground depicting a landscape, the rim painted blue as well, the back with two concentric blue circles encasing some stylised Chinese-inspired motifs, 22.5cm diam.; a smaller blue and white pottery dish on circular foot, the decorative composition reminiscent of Chinese kraak ware for the Western export market with central floral medallion, the cavetto with cartouches encasing flowers and scholar's tools, the exterior with water-weed and lotus motif, the base marked with stars, possibly an attempt to imitate Chinese porcelain marks, 15.8cm diam.; and a deep hemispherical bowl on straight tall foot, the interior plain except for a central flower and subtle blue line around the rim, the exterior with four lush floral bouquets and a band of lattice work around the foot, an old inventory number in the cavetto "2081", 15cm diam.
