the dodo (Raphus cucullatus) became extinct in the late 17th century, mounted on oval oak shield, with brass hanger wall mounting.
the shield 30.5cms x 19cms
This bilateral half plaster cast, is from a later mould originally taken of one of the only known remaining specimens that still has skin.
