A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver goblet or standing cup, Cutch circa 1890
Raj period. Of rounded cylindrical form upon a pedestal domed circular foot. The body with chased decoration of foliate scrolls and rosettes, the front with a shield within a shield cartouche engraved with a crest of a dove charged on the breast with the Venus symbol, the outer shield reserved with foliate scrolls. Beneath the cartouche two caparisoned elephants entwining trunks, the rest with pursuant animals of combatant oxen, dogs with hares, a lion.
