AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY AUSTRIAN 900 STANDARD SILVER AND ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, VIENNA DATED 1915 BY FB
Of rounded rectangular form with a push button release. The front with a painted enamel image of Eve holding an apple reserved against a graduated pale blue and pink guilloche enamel oval framed in white edged with ribbon-tied garlands of flowers. The reverse applied with an enamelled epaulette with the initials VK reserved with facsimile signatures, including to the front edge.
The interior with an engraved inscription dated '1914-15' and signature. Traces of gilt interior. Fully marked to each side, the makers mark FB possibly for Ferdinand Blümel (active 1909-24)
