A LACQUERED COPPER MEDALLION. 18th Century. Oval portrait medallion decorated in gold hiramaki-e and inlaid gold foil against a black lacquer ground with the King Edward VI (1537 - 1553). An inscription on the reverse,12.5cm. This medallion possibly belongs to the series commissioned by Johan Frederik, Baron van Reede tot de Parkeler between 1786 - 1789, while head of the Dutch trading mission at Deshima. 蒔絵英国王肖像画
