***Louise-Aline Dorian was the daughter of French minister Pierre-Frederic Dorian. She married Republican politician Paul Menard-Dorian. The couple held a salon frequented by the men of letters and other prominent figures, including: Jules de Goncourt, Edmond de Goncourt, Émile Zola, Alphonse Daudet, Auguste Rodin, Élie-Abel Carrière, Victor Considerant and Georges Clemenceau.
