Note: Shapes and Sizes was produced by Lowry in the late 1960s as an original lithograph. Lowry was more traditionally a painter, and whilst he produced numerous signed editions which reproduced well known paintings, he only made 17 original lithographs. Unusually for Lowry this print shows a close cropped in scene of bustling figures. Lithographys oily medium lends itself to these thickly drawn figures who blur and smudge against the delicate ground.
