This private collection focusses on the prominent makers and retailers of the George III to early Victorian period. Famous names of Paul Storr, William Burwash, Thomas Heming, John Scofield, John Bridge, messrs Barnard, the Wakelin partnerships, and Garrard all feature within the sale, as well as a selection of early 18th century flatware. Many of the pieces have identified heraldry linking them to their original owners, including several members of the nobility with the Duke of Leeds, Earl of Egremont, Earl Cowper, Earl of Airlie, Earl of Sandwich, and Viscount Galway. Teapots, second course dishes, salts, candlesticks, George III's own teaspoons, as well as a tea urn and even a grand plinth for a Doncaster Cup are to be found throughout the collection.
