The winter Modern British & Irish Art auction is one of the company’s strongest to date. It encompasses a wide variety of artworks, starting at the beginning of 20th century right through to modern contemporary.
The auction features a number of important private collections, one such collection offered, includes work by L.S. Lowry, Elisabeth Frink, Keith Vaughan, Duncan Grant, John Bellany and Reg Butler.
The undoubted highlight of the auction is an important and rare 1950s painting by the surrealist Eileen Agar. A Sea Change, was previously in the collection of Lord Sainsbury and was exhibited in her retrospective in 1971, among other notable shows.
Other highlights include unique works by Dame Paula Rego, Kyffin Williams, Eliot Hodgkin, Paul Feiler, John Piper and Henry Moore.
